Looking after Country, Culture & Self

thankful for my grandparents,

who continue to guide me

As a proud Gunai Kurnai and Monero Ngarigo woman currently living in Gippsland, Victoria. Growing up, Hollie was fortunate enough to learn about her culture and traditions from her grandparents who she admires and respects deeply.

Graduating from RMIT, studying a Bachelor of Arts Photography in 2016, Hollie is currently working in the Department of Education as a Koorie Support Mentor and part of the Wellbeing Team as the Indigenous Youth Support across two high schools. Along with running cultural sessions at a Berry Street School.

Freelancing in her spare time, Hollie has done work for Department of Premier and Cabinet, Parks New South Wales, Yirramboi Festival through the City of Melbourne, Latrobe City Council among others.

The first student to study the VCE Indigenous Languages of Victoria and studying a Certificate III in Australian Language & Cultural Heritage, she continues to practice and learn the Gunaikurnai language in community with hopes to study Linguistics in the future.

Combining her knowledge and skills to start up her own business that will eventually support up and coming Indigenous artists and people, she hopes to run a local program supporting our Indigenous Youth. Hollie aims to share culture through a range of creative mediums. Her jewellery pieces incorporate native plants and natural materials and currently exploring other mediums and creating resources, Hollie is always on the hunt for new and innovating ways to incorporate Culture, Country and Traditions.
